The Original Factory Shop operates from 150+ branches and employ over 2000 people. They have a strong community-based philosophy and have been widely credited with revitalising small town centres with their unique "mini department store" format. A cost effective, reliable phone infrastructure is imperative for them to operate efficiently.

Situation before Angel

• Two network providers (& tariffs) resulting in large volumes of cross network calls.
• Unable to identify overspend and potential savings due to lack of reporting and ongoing call analysis.
• Existing infrastructure incapable of supporting future business growth.

Our Challenge

• To evaluate existing usage and identify a solution capable of meeting the differing needs of store managers, buyers and the senior management team.
• To quickly negotiate competitive tariffs for 246 mobile phone and head office landlines.
• To identify ways to generate ongoing savings across their mobile and landline estate.

Results Achieved

• Analysis of usage resulted in mobile phones being the main method of communication across branches; capitalising on free "mobile to mobile" costs and resulting in significant landline fee savings.
• 1st year savings of some 15% expected.
• Introduction of weekly summary and monthly management reporting to help identify overspend and opportunity for savings across the business.
